Storage and handling

SerenyStone™ products must be handled with care to avoid damage. They should be stored flat in a location where the temperature is not excessive and away from direct sunlight to prevent warping. It is recommended to acclimate the coatings for twelve (12) hours prior to installation. Please refer to the installation guide for more information. 20-Year Limited Warranty: Groupe Plastika warrants its SerenyStone™ coating products against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of twenty (20) years from the date of purchase. This warranty provides decreasing coverage as follows:

This limited warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, improper handling, improper installation, or normal wear and tear. Groupe Plastika warrants its SerenyStone™ coating products against defects such as peeling, corrosion, rust, rot, or excessive discoloration. This warranty applies only when the products are stored, handled, installed, and used in accordance with the recommended instructions and under normal conditions. Failure to comply with these requirements will render this warranty null and void. These instructions are available on our website at the following address: www.groupeplastika.com.

The products must be installed in accordance with all applicable federal, provincial, local, or municipal building codes and regulations governing installation. SerenyStone™ cladding products are intended for exterior use only and are designed exclusively for wall cladding applications; they must not be used as paving stones or in areas subject to pedestrian traffic. These products do not contribute to the structural capacity of the substrate to which they are applied and must not be installed underwater. Installation should also be avoided in areas exposed to abrasion or repeated contact, such as from lawnmowers or trimmers. This limited warranty is provided solely for the benefit of the original purchaser.

Warranty exclusions

The warranty does not cover the following:
Damage due to handling or transport

• Damage due to improper installation – Mold accumulation
• Vandalism
• Damage caused by animals, birds, etc.
• Damage due to air pollution
• Damage due to the use of corrosive or harmful cleaning products
• Alteration or modification of the product (painted, modified, or otherwise)
• Fire
• Meteorological phenomena (storm, lightning, tornado, earthquake, or other)
• Damage due to impact
• Product repaired without the consent of Groupe Plastika
• Discoloration of the product due to normal erosion and weathering
• Damage due to changes or breakage in the building structure
• Deformation due to Exposure to excessive heat sources
• Poor product maintenance
• Shrinkage and gaps between panels or accessories

The original purchaser and installer must inspect each component prior to installation. Any defects, including dimensional discrepancies that could have been identified through a reasonable pre-installation inspection, are deemed accepted and waive any related claims. Shipping damage must be reported to the carrier upon receipt of the goods. This warranty will be considered void if PL PREMIUM adhesive is not used during installation. The use of adhesive is mandatory for the proper installation of polyurethane products, as it helps minimize the effects of expansion and contraction.

Any claim made under this limited warranty, in accordance with its terms and conditions, must be submitted no later than thirty (30) days following the discovery of a manufacturing defect. Groupe Plastika reserves the right to inspect the defective products at the installation site or to require that the original purchaser return the parts, freight prepaid, for inspection at the following address: Groupe Plastika Inc., 400 ch. de la Cité-des-Jeunes, P.O. Box 300, St-Clet, Quebec, J0P 1S0. Groupe Plastika will then determine, at its sole discretion, whether the parts are defective. Groupe Plastika undertakes to repair or, where applicable, replace the defective parts. If the original product is discontinued during the warranty period, Groupe Plastika may, at its discretion, replace it with a similar product of comparable quality or value. Groupe Plastika’s liability is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of a product proven to be defective and excludes all labor, transportation costs, and any other damages or expenses incurred in connection with the purchase or use of the products.

Following delivery and acceptance of its products, Groupe Plastika shall not be liable to any person for any direct or indirect damages, including but not limited to costs related to labor, finishing, handling, transportation, installation, loss of profits, loss of sales, acts of nature, civil unrest, acts of terrorism, or any other events.

No invoice credit or price adjustment will be granted without the prior written consent of Groupe Plastika. This warranty supersedes and excludes all other warranties, whether express or implied by law or otherwise, including but not limited to any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Plastika Group warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase. This limited warranty does not apply to damages due to improper usage, mishandling, improper installation or normal wear and tear. Plastika Group warrants the 100% acrylic latex finishing paint on its products against yellowing, flaking and blistering for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. Plastika Group warrants the Acrythane finishing paint on its products against yellowing, flaking and blistering for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase. This limited warranty shall be valid only if the storing, installation and use of the products was performed in accordance with recommended installation, storing and handling instructions under normal conditions, failing which this limited warranty shall be null and void. These instructions are available on our website at: www.plastikagroup.com. This limited warranty is in favour of the original purchaser only. Dark colour paints may alter the properties of the material and consequently void Plastika Group’s limited warranty, except for Acrythane paints applied in Plastika Group’s plant. Painting with an exterior grade paint is required of all product purchased with factory applied primer only (when requested by customer), including all polyurethane products, failing which this limited warranty shall be null and void. Cellular PVC products do not require paint.

The original purchaser and its installer(s) must inspect each piece prior to installation. Such parties waive all defects (including dimensional discrepancies) which could have been discovered by a reasonable inspection prior to installation. Transportation breakings must be noted to the carrier upon receipt of the goods. This limited warranty will automatically be NULL AND VOID if PL PREMIUM adhesive is not used for installation of the products and if the product’s surface is not lightly sanded where PL PREMIUM adhesive will be applied. The use of urethane based adhesive, such as PL Premium, is essential for the installation of polyurethane and cellular PVC products. This precaution reduces the effect of expansion and contraction on the product. A PVC adhesive is also offered for cellular PVC joints.

If a claim is made under this limited warranty and conditions have been met, the original purchaser must notify Plastika Group in writing of such claim within thirty (30) days of discovering a defect. Plastika Group reserves the right to inspect the defective product on site or request that the original purchaser, at the original purchaser’s expense, return the defective product for inspection at the following address: Plastika Group inc., 400 Cité-des-Jeunes Road, P.O. Box 300, Saint-Clet, Quebec, J0P 1S0. Plastika Group will then determine, at its discretion, whether the parts returned are defective. Plastika Group will repair, or if need be, replace defective parts. The liability of Plastika Group is limited to the replacement or repair of products proven to be defective and does not include labour, freight costs, damages or any other cost incurred by the purchase or use of products.

Upon delivery and product acceptation, Plastika Group shall have no liability to any person, whatsoever for incidental or consequential damages resulting from causes such as, but not limited to, labour, finishing, handling, freight charges, goods damages in transit, installation, lost profits, lost sales, acts of nature, civil unrest, acts of terrorism or others.

No purchaser may take any deduction or credit against any amount owed to Plastika Group, or make any charge back with regards to a warranty claim, without the expressed prior written consent of Plastika Group.

This limited warranty is in lieu of and excludes all other warranties not expressly set forth herein, whether expressed or implied by operation of law or otherwise including, but not limited to, any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
